Streszczenie
Ultrasonografia jamy brzusznej stanowi bezcenną pomoc diagnostyczną zarówno przy ostrej kolce, jak i nawracających morzyskach. Umożliwia wizualizację obszarów jamy brzusznej, które nie są osiągalne za pomocą samego badania fizykalnego (żołądek, dwunastnica). Ponadto badanie USG pozwala na szybkie podjęcie decyzji co do sposobu leczenia. Procedura jest nieinwazyjna i dobrze tolerowana przez większość koni.

Abstract
Abdominal ultrasound in horses is a valuable diagnostic tool for both acute and chronic colics. It enables visualization of the gastrointestinal area that cannot be reached during a physical examination (stomach, duodenum). Also, it allows to make a quick decision concerning the choice of a proper treatment method. The procedure is non-invasive and tolerated well by most of the horses.
