Streszczenie
Cryptosporidium spp. są jednokomórkowymi pierwotniakami pasożytującymi m.in. w przewodzie pokarmowym i układzie oddechowym wielu gatunków ssaków, w tym u bydła i człowieka. Poza długim okresem przeżywania w środowisku zewnętrznym cechuje się on bardzo niską dawką zakaźną, ponieważ po dostaniu się do światła jelita dochodzi do masywnego namnażania, gdzie dochodzi do uszkodzenia i złuszczenia mikrokosmków jelitowych, a tym samym do powstania wodnistej, uporczywej biegunki i odwodnienia.

Abstract
Cryptosporidium spp. are single-cell protozoa parasites of the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory system of many mammalian species, including cattle and humans. After a long period of survival in the external environment, it is characterized by a very low infectious dose, with massive multiplication after the infestation of the intestinal lumen. As a consequence intestinal microvilli are damaged and peeled. resulting in watery, persistent diarrhea and dehydration.
