Streszczenie
Paratuberkuloza bydła, nazywana też chorobą Johnego, jest przewlekłą chorobą zakaźną, występującą najczęściej u przeżuwaczy, powodowaną przez prątek Mycobacterium paratuberculosis. Powoduje ona znaczne straty ekonomiczne, głównie w hodowli bydła, które są spowodowane spadkiem mleczności, spadkiem wagi ciała, słabym wykorzystaniem pokarmu, eliminacją zwierząt uznanych za podejrzane o chorobę lub chore.

Abstract
Paratuberculosis of cattle, also known as John’s disease, is a chronic infectious disease, most commonly seen in ruminants, caused by Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis. The disease (with its symptoms such as diarrhea, weight loss, poor feed utilization) leads to the elimination of disease-suspected or sick animals thus causing significant economic losses in cattle.
