Streszczenie
Próchnica lejkowa u koni jest schorzeniem powszechnie występującym u koni starszych. Najczęściej dotyczy pierwszych górnych zębów trzonowych. Postępujący charakter choroby może przyczynić się do infekcji kanałów miazgi, pęknięcia korony klinicznej oraz powstawania ropni okołowierzchołkowych. Wczesne rozpoznanie choroby i monitorowanie jej przebiegu pozwala zastosować leczenie (wypełnienie ubytków), które zapobiega występowaniu bolesnych powikłań często prowadzących do konieczności ekstrakcji zęba.

Abstract
Infundibular caries is common disease in older horses. Most commonly affected with caries teeth are first upper molars. Progressive caries can lead to endodontic disease, fractures of clinical crown and dental apical infections. Early identification and monitoring of the disease allows to apply treatment (restoration) that prevents painful complications leading to extraction.
