Racjonalne stosowanie antybiotyków jest w ostatnich latach przedmiotem szerokiej dyskusji. Niezależnie od różnych opinii na temat wykorzystywania antybiotyków w medycynie weterynaryjnej w kontekście narastania lekooporności bakterii, konieczne, z wielu względów, jest racjonalizowanie wykorzystania antybiotyków w ochronie zdrowia zwierząt, w tym w produkcji trzody chlewnej. Odpowiedzialne stosowanie antybiotyków powinno stanowić integralną część dobrych praktyk weterynaryjnych. W artykule przedstawiono podstawowe zasady odpowiedzialnego stosowania antybiotyków.

Abstract
The rational use of antibiotics has been the subject of a widespread discussion in recent years. Despite different views on the role of veterinary medicine in the increase of bacterial resistance, for many reasons a rational use of antibiotics in animals (including pig production) is necessary. A responsible use of antibiotics should be an integral part of good veterinary practice. The article presents basic principles of a proper use of antibiotics.
