Streszczenie
Syndrom MMA jest schorzeniem występującym u loch, ale śmiertelność spowodowana tą chorobą jest znacznie wyższa u prosiąt. W wyniku wystąpienia choroby lochy spada wydajność mleczna, co może spowodować niedożywienie prosiąt, a w dalszej kolejności ich padnięcia. Ze względu na intensywność występujących objawów wyróżnia się trzy postaci syndromu MMA: podkliniczną, podostrą i ostrą. Głównym elementami profilaktyki tej jednostki chorobowej są optymalne warunki środowiskowe oraz prawidłowe żywienie w trakcie całego okresu ciąży. Kwas tolfenamowy może być stosowany profilaktycznie, ale również jest jednym z sposobów leczenia.
Abstract
The MMA syndrome is a condition affecting sows, but the mortality caused by the disease is much higher in piglets. As a result of the sow’s disease, milk yield decreases, which can lead to malnutrition of the piglets and, subsequently, to their death. Due to the intensity of the symptoms, three forms of the MMA syndrome are distinguished: subclinical, subacute and acute. The main elements of this disease prevention are optimal environmental conditions and proper nutrition during the entire period of pregnancy. Tolfenamic acid can be used prophylactically, but it is also one of the methods of treatment.
