Niektóre programy szczepień uwzględniają zarówno szczepienie loch, jak i prosiąt przed odsadzeniem. W takich sytuacjach teoretycznie może dochodzić do interferencji przeciwciał siarowych ze szczepionką, co niekiedy, w przypadku wysokich mian przeciwciał neutralizujących, może skutkować obniżeniem skuteczności immunizacji.

New born piglets lack antibodies and colostrum antibodies, which appear in the porcine blood 48 hours after the parturition and are the main protection against infections at the early stage of life. Some vaccination programmes include vaccination of both sows and porcines before weaning. In such situations, colostral antibodies may theoretically interfere with the vaccine which, in case of high-titer vaccines, may result in lower immunization efficacy.
