Zmiana sposobu użytkowania koni w kierunku sportowym i rekreacyjnym spowodowała rozwój i upowszechnienie narzędzi przydatnych w kierowaniu rozrodem klaczy, takich jak farmakologiczna indukcja rui oraz owulacji. Ze względu na specyfikę cyklu rujowego klaczy zastosowanie terapii hormonalnej nie zawsze przynosi spodziewany efekt, dlatego celowe jest przybliżenie specyfiki cyklu rujowego klaczy oraz możliwości efektywnego manipulowania nim.

Abstract
A growing use of horses for sport and leisure resulted in the development of techniques useful in mare’s reproduction management strategies, including pharmacological induction of estrus and ovulation. Due to the specificity of the mare’s estrous cycle, effects are not always satisfactory. The paper explains the specificity of the mare’s estrous cycle and the possibilities of controlling the cycle effectively.
