Streszczenie
Powszechne występowanie zakażeń świń bakteriami L. intracellularis w Polsce, jak i na świecie wymusza na hodowcach i lekarzach weterynarii opiekującymi się stadami świń pilną konieczność „zmierzenia się z problemem”. Choroba wywołana przez wspominany patogen – adenomatoza jelitowa – jest chorobą rosnących świń i dotyczy głównie fazy tuczu. Jej wystąpienie w stadzie nie powoduje, nawet w ostrej formie, drastycznego wzrostu śmiertelności.

Abstract
Infections with L. intracellularis in bovine are widely spreading in Poland and in the world forcing porcine breeders and veterinarians to confront the problem. The disease, called intestinal adenomatosis attacks growing pigs during the fattening period. Even in its acute form, the disease does not generate a remarkable increase in mortality.
