W artykule pokrótce zostały omówione niektóre ogólne aspekty dotyczące zmian chorobowych, leczenia i zarządzania zdrowiem stada, związane z kulawizną w produkcji mleka. Kulawizna u bydła mlecznego stanowi poważny problem wpływający na dobrostan zwierząt i powoduje straty finansowe dla rolnika z powodu: obniżonej produkcji mleka, zmniejszonej płodności i wczesnego uboju. Lekarz weterynarii odgrywa najważniejszą rolę w usprawnieniu przebiegu procesu eliminowania i zmniejszenia liczby uszkodzeń racic w oparciu o współpracę z innymi specjalistami związanymi z hodowlą.

Abstract
This paper briefly discusses some general aspects of lesions, treatment and herd health management associated with lameness in dairy production. Lameness in dairy cattle is a major welfare problem, causing financial losses for the farmer due to lowered milk production, decreased fertility and early culling. The veterinarian is the key person, responsible for a good collaboration with other professionals associated with the farm.
