Streszczenie
Termografia jest metodą diagnostyczną, która rejestruje promieniowanie podczerwone emitowane z badanej powierzchni ciała. Z pomocą kamery termowizyjnej odbierana jest radiacja elektromagnetyczna, która jest przekształcana na wartości temperatur w formie termogramu. Termografia obrazuje zmiany temperatury, które są efektem zmian w przepływie krwi spowodowanych m.in. toczącym się procesem zapalnym. Dzięki temu termografia lokalizuje obszar i możliwe źródło toczącego się stanu zapalnego. Właściwości termografii są wykorzystywane głównie w diagnostyce ortopedycznej koni.

Abstract
Thermography is diagnostic method which presenting the surface temperature of human and animal body. A thermal camera detects infrared radiation and transforms on electromagnetic radiation and the output is expressed as an thermogram. Thermography indicate areas of body surface temperature changes, which is influenced by the rate of blood flow through the cutaneous vessels and inflammation changes blood flow. This method detects the inflammatory process and subclinical inflammation. Thermography plays an important role as a diagnostic tool in diagnostic of equine orthopedic diseases.
